Owned by enthusiastic local history expert Mükremin Tokmak, the Venessa is a homey Avanos option with simple, bright rooms full of local kilims (pileless woven rugs) and traditional yastık (cushions). A cosy rooftop terrace has views and bundles of local character, and the pension also has its own small Cappadocian art exhibition and museum, which nonguests are welcome to visit.
