Avanos market is the best, and biggest, local produce market in the region. It's foodie central with market traders selling fresh honeycomb, slabs of homemade butter and a huge array of seasonal fruit and vegetables. It bustles with shoppers all day but is best in the morning. It's held every Friday on the south bank of the Kızılırmak River, near Taş Köprü bridge.
