This hilltop ecoretreat takes its design cue from the elements, with 18 loft-style rooms spread over four stark yet beautiful concrete casas. At off-the-grid Casa Solaris, the sun powers the electricity and heats the water, and you can shower under the sun or stars. And no need for air-con: the open-fronted lofts allow the outside in. No kids under 14.
Lofts include fully stocked kitchens so you can rustle up a healthy breakfast, there's a pool and daily yoga in the outdoor studio. Wi-fi in the lobby only. Designed by Canadian architect John Hix, Casa Solaris is the first all-solar-powered hotel accommodations in the Caribbean.
Minimum two-night stay.
