Hotel Podewils

Top choice in Gdańsk

The view from the Podewils across the river to the Main Town can’t be beaten, though the owners probably wish they could take its cheery baroque facade and move it away from the flash riverside developments sprouting all around. Guest rooms are a vintage confection of elegant period furniture, classic prints and distinctive wallpaper.

This is the only Gdańsk member of the Historical Hotels of Europe and despite all the new luxury hotels being bolted together in the city, it's still the top address for those in the know.
