Danhostel Helsingør

Helsingør

Right on its own little sandy beach with fireplace, lawns and kayak hire, this remarkable hostel is based around a count's 1907 summer mansion. Only five of the 40 rooms are within that building, but the restaurant section remains very grand with sea views. Dorm beds are available only in peak summer season. Sheet hire (59kr) obligatory.

It's nearly 2km northwest of central Helsingør, around 600m beyond Marienlyst Badehotel. Bus 342 (24kr) will get you there.
