The laid-back, wood-floored Whip fuses a friendly neighbourhood bar ambience with a gastropub menu and a good array of classic cocktails. But many regulars are here for the BC craft beers and hulking bison or salmon burgers (yam fries recommended). Beer nuts should not miss Sunday afternoon's guest keg, tapped at 4pm, ideally combined with a sunny patio seat.
Check out the rotating exhibitions of local artists featured on the walls. If you're here in late May, look out for the Whip's annual Show and Shine event where vintage cars park-up outside.
