Embassy Circle Guest House

Washington, DC

Embassies surround this 1902 French-country-style home, which sits a few blocks from Dupont’s nightlife hubbub. The 11 big-windowed rooms are decked out with Persian carpets and original art; they don’t have TVs, though they do have wi-fi. Staff feed you well throughout the day, with a hot organic breakfast, afternoon cookies and an evening wine-and-beer soirée.

Embassy Circle’s sister property – the Woodley Park Guest House in further-flung northwest DC – is also a hot spot.
