Victoria House is pretty much the perfect guesthouse – a delightful, solid Victorian building in the middle of Caernarfon's old town, run by exceptionally hospitable and attentive hosts. The four spacious, modern rooms include lovely touches – free toiletries, a DVD on the town's history, fresh milk and a welcoming drink in the minibar – and breakfast is a joy.
Ask for the Balcony Suite: three rooms with a balcony and access to the town walls, looking across to Anglesey – it's an absolute steal.
