An old-school yellow villa with porticos, terrace seating and a garden restaurant, the Auberge retains a vaguely colonial vibe. Rooms are comfortable but can be damp on the lower floors, so book an upper-floor or family room. It's close to the main strip but off the road, so quieter than most hotels.
French-speaking owner Mr Manh runs a tour agency and can arrange anything you need, including trekking tours and motorcycle rental.
