New Glarus Brewery

Wisconsin

This hilltop brewery, about a mile south of New Glarus, has won kudos around the state for its excellent Spotted Cow ale and Belgian Red (with Door County cherries). A visit here entails wandering around the brewery and then hitting the tasting room for a pint ($8 to $9.50) or three-beer sampler ($8). On Fridays, budding brewmasters are offered the possibility of a three-hour 'hard hat' guided tour ($30).
