This 54-room state park lodge sits on the southern rim of Blackwater Falls, and it's an easy walk across the back lawn to a pretty viewpoint overlooking the gorge. Rooms are simple but nicely furnished. Onsite there's a restaurant, cozy common area and game room. Thirty-nine cabins are available, both simple and deluxe, and a few allow pets.

Pet fee is $20 per day.
