Bavarian Inn

Top choice in West Virginia

The Bavarian takes the Euro-mountaineering theme and runs with it all the way up the Alps. The exterior looks like a chalet, and the rooms have an attractively severe, clean, comfortable and efficient air that's, forgive us the stereotype, kind of German. A nice break from the trails. Short walk to downtown.

There's fine dining on-site at the Potomac room, or just grab a beer and pub grub at the revamped Rathskeller.
