General Lewis Inn

Top choice in West Virginia

Creaky floors, four-poster beds and Persian rugs evoke thoughts of ghosts at this white-columned inn built around an 1830s home and a newer wing, which opened in 1928 as an inn. It's been an inn ever since. There's an on-site dining room and a casual lobby lounge serving local beer and spirits. Doors to unoccupied rooms remain open, so stop by to check them out.

The inn is named for town namesake General Andrew Lewis who served under George Washington in the French and Indian War and later the Revolutionary War.
