Listed on the Register of Historic Places and helmed by a doting staff, the 114-room Morrison-Clark comprises two 1864 Victorian residences filled with fine antiques, tear-drop chandeliers and gilded mirrors, and a newer wing with Asian-influenced decor set in the repurposed Chinese church next door. It may sound odd, but the overall effect is lovely and dignified.
All of the rooms have modern furnishings (flat-screen TV, wired-up work desk, free wi-fi), and a tasteful cream-and-taupe color scheme, though some are on the small side. Located near the Convention Center, the inn attracts lots of business people who prefer a bit of grace and style to the surrounding corporate hotels.
