Oceanas Bistro

Outer Banks

A good-time local's haunt open year-round, Oceanas' Bistro will win you over with friendly servers and a pretty damn excellent menu that includes outstanding crab-cakes or mahi-mahi sandwiches and some insanely good-looking 'grillers' (open-faced quesadillas, invented in-house) that come in veggie, blackened tuna, crab or Caribbean chicken. Eat at the bar to pair your meal with loads of local color.

Those with a sweet tooth should try one of the inventive desserts, such as coconut bomb cake filled with coconut cream and covered in coconut icing, or the peanut butter pie with a chocolate layer. In the off season, it's easily one of the best spots that opens south of Bodie Island.
