This Kill Devil Hills microbrewery is powered by a 93ft wind turbine, the first such brewery in the USA. That means you'll be doing your part for global warming when you're downing your 'thankyousirmayIhaveanother' IPA or lemongrass wheat. The odd design is a modern interpretation of a turn-of-the-century lifesaving station; it also resembles a church.
It's also a great spot for food, so you can call it a night here (and throw down some of the housemade green sriracha on anything you order). Brewery tours take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 4:30pm ($8 per person including beer tasting and a free glass).
