The kitchen at the Zero George Street hotel might be diminutive, but the dining experience provided by Food Network celebrity chef Vinson Petrillo is enormously memorable. The chef assumes his diners are intrepid and sends out dainty plates of pressure-cooked octopus, ricotta gnudi (gnocchi-like dumplings) and scallop tartare. Vegetarians are well served with items like cappellacci (stuffed pasta) and rutabaga (swede).
The wine list is small, but the tasting-menu pairings are expertly curated. Cocktails and beer are also available (and a fine idea).
