There’s a tug of loyalties with Stumptown, Portland’s coffee pioneers founded in 1999 by Duane Sorenson, who originally hails from Puyallup near Seattle. Its Seattle location may not be the franchise original, but the coffee is still killer and if you're looking to expand your palate you can stop in on Friday at 1pm for a free coffee tasting.
Free tastings are one hour. Reservations are required and can be made on the website.
