Mr Pollo

Top choice in The Mission, Dogpatch & Potrero Hill

This hole-in-the-wall restaurant contains just six tables and serves one of the most delicious, but least expensive, tasting menus in all of San Francisco. Vegetarians or anyone fussy should skip it, as the four always-changing courses are often heavy on meat. But adventurous omnivores will fully appreciate the artful cuisine, prepared with seasonal ingredients and inspired by the chef's travels.

In a nod to the Colombian restaurant that formerly occupied the space, the second course is often a spin on the arepa, and diners are instructed to eat it with their hands. Excellent wine and beer pairings. Make reservations through Yelp a month in advance.
