Hot Sauce and Panko

Top choice in San Francisco

What's for lunch? Just wing it at Hot Sauce and Panko, an eccentric hilltop corner store stocking hundreds of versions of two namesake items, plus 30 (!) variations on chicken wings. House hot sauce gives a sensational slow burn and lime-chili fish sauce is a flavor bomb – but housemade gojujang (Korean fermented-chili sauce) will have you licking your lips for hours afterwards.

Panko-fried chicken sandwiches are also tasty, but waffles aren't their strong suit – wings fly solo here.
