Society Hotel – Bingen

Top choice in Columbia River Gorge

It's a historic hotel, it's a hostel, it's a retreat center and it's a spa. Whoever you are, there's a space for you on beautiful grounds amongst modern, cozy architecture. The dorm and shared bath rooms are in a restored schoolhouse that includes a massive activities area (including indoor basketball), while the newly built cabins (one and two bedrooms) surround a spa complete with hot and cold pools.

Everyone is welcome in all the areas and mingling with other guests is encouraged. That said, there are plenty of peaceful corners too. Think of it as a destination unto itself with outdoor activities galore right at the doorstep. This place is also three blocks from the Amtrak station, so you can catch the train directly from Portland or Seattle.
