Downtown’s classiest hotel opened in 2016, in the refurbished RJ Reynolds building downtown, a 1929 art deco structure that served as the prototype for the Empire State Building, built two years later. The public spaces are magnificent, and, as well as almost 200 rooms in hip contemporary style, it holds an adult playroom, complete with spiral slide and bowling alley.
