A poster child for Durham’s remarkable comeback, this James Beard–nominated ‘bar de tapas’ is downtown’s culinary anchor. Many dishes come with a Southern bent, and particular revelations include the pan com tomate with Manchego cheese; the brussels sprouts with pine nuts, raisins and saffron yogurt; and the fried egg and cheese (in which the ‘whites’ are fried farmer’s cheese!).
There’s a long list of Spanish wines, cavas and vermouths, plus an eclectic range of draft beers (including Mikkeller, Belgians and Oklahoma saisons).
