One of the oldest gay joints in NYC, Julius is a refreshingly unpretentious dive bar through and through. The clientele is a mix of the old queer vanguard and scruffy younger upstarts, and the food, cooked opposite the bar, is also without pretense (a burger or a grilled-cheese or chicken sandwich won't set you back more than $6).
