Blackwoods Campground

Acadia National Park

Five miles south of Bar Harbor on ME 3, year-round Blackwoods requires reservations from May to October. Flush toilets, running water, a dump station, picnic tables and fire rings are provided; paid showers and a campers' supply store are a half-mile away in the village of Otter Creek. Note that the campsite isn't accessed from the park's loop road.

Several hiking trails lead right from the campsite, including a trail up Gorham Mountain and a more challenging route up Cadillac Mountain's south ridge. There's also a short trail (from the campsites along A loop) down to the beach where you can watch the sunrise.
