State Theater

Gold Coast

Filmmaker and local resident Michael Moore directed the renovation of this gorgeous, century-old movie palace. It shows first-run features and art house flicks, with 25¢ morning matinees (classics for adults on Wednesdays, for children on Saturdays). Don’t forget to look up at the twinkling stars in the ceiling.

Moore also revamped the small, 150-seat Bijou by the Bay movie theater a block away.
