Big Branch Marsh National Wildlife Refuge

Louisiana

The Big Branch Marsh includes some 18,000 acres of protected pine flatwoods and marshland that houses gators, pelicans, egrets, swamp sparrows, purple martin and the endangered red-cockaded woodpecker. The easiest way to access all of the above is via the 2 miles of trails that web out from the Bayou Lacombe Center.
