This bluff-top YMCA with gorgeous coastal views has many options, from tent camping and hostel-style cabin dorms (no linen) to a four-person suite (linen provided) and an oceanview cottage (linen provided). However, it books up with groups, so drop-in availability is rare. Make a reservation. Cottages and suites have a cleaning fee of $75 to $100, plus a two-night minimum stay.
The camp is between the 16- and 17-mile markers.
For the cabins you’ll need a sleeping bag and towels, and cooking facilities are limited to simple outdoor grills on the grounds. A new King's Suite, built with chaperones in mind, sleeps four. You can also pitch a tent on the grounds. The great surprise is the duplex cottage down below. It's in much better shape and has spectacular ocean views. Each apartment in the cottage has two bedrooms and a refrigerator, microwave and lanai.
