Buzz's Original Steakhouse

Kailua

This is one of the only options to dine near the gorgeous beach, and even then you can hear the surf way more than you can see it. Buzz's has been here forever – since 1962. The old-school island decor is kitschy, the surf-and-turf menu (with throwback salad bar that does have fresh avocado) is so-so and the mai tais are watery.

There's limited parking, although you can use Kailua Beach Park after dark. This is the only place near many of the rentals to get a drink, which you can enjoy on the terrace.
