Hostel Detroit

Detroit

Volunteers rehabbed this old building using recycled materials and donations for the patchwork furnishings, and painted it in vivid colors inside and out. There are two 10-bed dorms, two four-bed dorms and a handful of private rooms; everyone shares the four bathrooms and three kitchens. Bookings are taken online only (and must be done at least 24 hours in advance).

Bike rentals costs $20 per day. The hostel is located in Corktown on a desolate street, but near several good bars and restaurants.
