The Owl hides in a Tremont residential complex. Push open the iron gate and walk down the alleyway that leads to the dark, moody room. It feels like a lounge in an old church basement, with tables made from thick slabs of reclaimed wood and stained glass windows shining behind the bar. Peculiar cocktails are the stock in trade.
Rather than order a specific drink off the menu, you choose a mood (relaxing, rejoicing etc) and a taste (fruity, bitter, smoky etc). After asking a few additional questions, the bartender then concocts a drink for you. Beer and wine are available, too.
The 1850s-era building was once a bible factory, hence the churchy vibe.
