Arnold’s

Cincinnati

Sit at the bar at Arnold’s and you might rub elbows with a city council member or local newscaster or Reds baseball player. The downtown staple has been pouring pints since 1861. Hand-carved wood doors lead to the walled courtyard (open in summer, covered in winter) where there’s live music – often bluegrass – nightly from the front porch-like stage.

You really should order the warm pretzel with beer cheese. If you’re still hungry, the upstairs restaurant serves an eclectic menu including Greek spaghetti, blueberry chicken and egg-topped burgers.
