Previously a sport reserved for retirees, shuffleboard first transitioned into an all-ages affair on these very courts, which also happen to be the world's oldest and most numerous. Friday nights come alive when families, hipsters, young people, old people and everybody else shows up (toting their own alcohol in many cases) to slide discs back and forth until someone wins.
The shuffleboard nightlife concept has been replicated in many places across the country, including hip Williamsburg in New York City.
