St Augustine's oldest inn has been in continuous operation since 1791. Crushed-coquina-shell and ancient wood-beam architecture create a period ambience, abetted by open fireplaces, a maze of antique-filled nooks and crannies, beds with handmade quilts and a lush walled courtyard. Sumptuous buffet breakfasts, free local wine and complimentary evening desserts round out the picture.

Guests also have day access to a beachfront cottage, perfect for a day away from the crowds. Rates vary greatly by season.
