The university on the northeastern side of town holds the Campus Center for Appropriate Technology (CCAT), a world leader in developing sustainable technologies. On the first Friday of the month at noon and the third Friday of the month at 2pm, you can take a tour of CCAT's house, a converted residence that uses less than 5% of the energy consumed by the average American home.
