Şahmeran Otantik Pansiyon

Mardin

Named after the mythological 'Queen of the Serpents' from Anatolian folklore, this artsy pension has a laid-back, bohemian vibe. High-vaulted-ceiling rooms with alcove wall features are simply furnished and come with titchy bathrooms, while the stone courtyard below is home to a cafe. Look for the signpost off 1 Caddesi and climb the stairs up to the entrance.

Be aware that there's no air con in the rooms and although the stone-cut rooms do stay naturally cool, in the hotter months you'll very likely need a fan (which staff can provide).
