This long-awaited addition to Tarsus' meagre accommodation options is a stunning boutique hotel converted from a traditional 250-year-old Tarsus house in the centre of the Old City. Eight of the 12 rooms have stone walls, antique furniture, velvet drapes and İznik tiles and are named after wives and consorts of the Ottoman sultans.
Our favourites are the Hürrem Sultan and the Nurbanu Sultan suites. The four rooms at the top (misleadingly called `penthouse rooms') are a lot smaller, have wooden floors and mansard ceilings. The in-house restaurant with both indoor and delightful courtyard seating serves international favourites like fajitas, penne, paella and Wiener schnitzel (mains ₺35 to ₺50).
