In a restored (well, rebuilt) traditionally styled house among several older buildings, Çınarbey is a favourite for barbecues and regional foods including Sinop mantısı (local white-sauce ravioli). What really attracts drooling carnivores is the sırık kebabı (per kg ₺120, from 1pm), delicious slow-cooked mutton cut from a whole sheep that's been spit-roast in a glass-doored kitchen on the terrace.
Upstairs (via a side door) a pansiyon (www.cinarlarpansiyon.com) offers functional rooms that are simple but clean and new (per person ₺75). There's one bathroom per two rooms, and no AC.
