Our favourite boutique hotel in Alanya, the Villa Turka is housed in a 200-year-old Ottoman mansion lovingly restored to showcase its original wooden ceilings and tiled floors. There are 10 rooms here, featuring quality bed linen, honey-toned cedar decor and antiques, while views take in the nearby Red Tower and the distant Taurus Mountains.

There's also a separate villa (€90 to €180) sleeping up to six people. Breakfast at the Villa Turka often incorporates organic goodies from farms surrounding Alanya. Service is both affable and impeccable.
