Limon

Top choice in Bodrum Peninsula

A rustic escape in the hills above Gümüşlük, Limon sprawls across garden terraces and a whitewashed farmhouse, with stunning views over a ruined Roman bath and Byzantine chapel ruins to the glistening Aegean. There's a real earthy, authentic flavour to the food here: organic salads, exquisite mezes like mücveru (zucchini cakes with yoghurt) and mains including kuzu incik (lamb shank with aubergine purée).

There's also espresso or Turkish coffee, special teas, homemade cakes and lemonade and hand-picked, vodka-soaked petals in the gelincik (poppy) cocktail. You'll find live music here some nights. It's along the main road to Yalıkavak.
