The Safran occupies an elegant restored Ottoman house in the historic Tophane district, just through the citadel's main gate. Although the building includes a Byzantine wall, the 10 rooms are thoroughly modern affairs. Room 5 is spacious with a good street view and 9 has a large bathroom.
