Gönlüferah 1890

Bursa

Dating from 1890, the hilltop Gönlüferah has been a hotel since the early 20th century, and in that time has hosted many a famous guest. It looks the part, with thick carpets and portraits of Bursa's Ottoman forefathers. Rooms range from 'economic' and 'standard', with city or mountain views, to 'Prince' and 'Sultan'.

Cheaper rooms are small, particularly the bathrooms, but continue the opulent tone through plush headboards, dangling lights and minibars featuring wine and spirits.
