Hamam Cafe

Black Sea Coast

In what was an Ottoman-era hamam on the big harbour, this easy-going cafe with its ageing wooden facade is perfect for sipping tea and playing backgammon among colourful lights on the disused göbek taşı (heated central 'navel stone').

The front yard looks toward Büyük Liman, albeit across the road. Nibbles like the peynirli gözleme (stuffed savoury crepes with cheese) are moreish and you can also eat pizza and Amasra mantısı (local ravioli).
