Kaomai Lanna Resort

Chiang Mai Province

About 29km from Chiang Mai on the outskirts of San Pa Thong, this resort is set in a series of converted tobacco-curing sheds, redeveloped as tasteful and upscale hotel rooms and a museum. The resort can arrange tours to nearby handicraft villages (which are truly villages instead of souvenir markets) and the delightful cafe serves strong coffee and yummy desserts.

There's also a yoga studio, and a new restaurant was set to open in late 2019.
