As the poshest floating stay at the Mae Ngat Irrigation Reservoir, secluded Mountain Float mainly attracts wealthy families and groups of friends from Bangkok looking to escape into nature... and party all night. Spacious, open-air common spaces have stylish furnishings and gorgeous lake views, and most accommodation is filled with bunk beds (with super-comfy mattresses).
The floating hotel is surrounded by gently sloping mountains and verdant forest, and offers activities including kayaking, fishing and water trampoline. Add to that a karaoke machine and a large supply of booze, and things get weird.
An on-site restaurant serves an elaborate breakfast and Thai food, and a speedboat transfers guests to and from the reservoir dock (about a 10-minute ride).
