Sala Chalermkrung

Chinatown

This art-deco Bangkok landmark, a former cinema dating to 1933, is one of the few remaining places kŏhn (masked dance-drama based on stories from the Ramakian, the Thai version of the Indian epic Ramayana) can be witnessed. The weekly traditional dance-drama is enhanced here by laser graphics, high-tech audio and English subtitles. Concerts and other events are also held; check the website for details.
