Dragon Head Rock

Eastern Taiwan & Taroko National Park

Viewed from the south, this rock supposedly resembles the profile of a whiskered Chinese dragon roaring at the sky.

The road actually cuts right through the rock near Km24, but continue to the toilet block and look back to get the best impression. The official looking compound immediately beyond is the infamous nuclear waste depository site, now with an electronic geiger-counter reading displayed on the wall outside to reassure nervous residents.
