Top choice in Taipei

This lovely village house in Treasure Hill has massive picture windows and great views of the river. There are a variety of rooms with shared bathrooms – dorms, singles and doubles – all simply but beautifully decorated in wood, white and beige. Basic breakfast included, and 10% discount Sunday to Thursday. Access is via a long walk up steps so it's not suitable for those with heavy luggage.

Once you enter the village, ask for directions. Note there are no roads inside Treasure Hill, it's all stone paths and steps.
