Jianshan Hotel

Taipei

This little vintage hotel is beautifully decorated with prints of 1930s Taiwan, old radio sets and telephonic equipment. The male reception staff are cheery and helpful. There's no lift or breakfast, but at this price and with this much charm, it won't matter.
