Relais Royal Tikehau

The Tuamotus

This upscale pension sits on a secluded motu about a 20-minute walk across some shallow waterways from the village. The property is lapped by a glassy turquoise channel on one side and fronted by a swath of pinkish sand on the other side – the magical setting will help you forget that this place is a tad overpriced.

Bungalows are big and comfy but simply furnished and don't have air-con. Avoid the rooms in a separate building, which are much less exciting and have no views. The whole place is run on solar and wind power. Airport transfers are 1200 CFP per person return. Free kayaks, but wi-fi costs extra. Minimum stay of two nights; half-board is included.
